Great giants of the sea humming,
singing ocean path to the others.
Oh whale, so mighty and great,
crooning note that plunges across the deep.
Haunting sound tuning the waves
and pushing the distance aside.
eerily echoing across the miles,
but heard only in the spray of sea.
Heartbeats away keeping time
with great fins, and swimming towards
the persistant call, I come, I come...
and the whales move towards the call.
The mighty ones together at last
in celebration, orchestrating in time,
exiting the water in great leaps,
these giants of the ocean are also the melody.
Trumpeting the sea with their songs
their great fins beating time to the waves,
Magnificent, so magnificent..pounding
and sounding their way to the deep.
Calling to each other in harmony,
they make the music only they can hear.
A song that stirs the heart, so sad..
but so very beautiful, in my heart I'll keep.
