Alone in her reflection she seeks the order
Of the cosmos and ponders the tranquillity
Of the earth's heartbeat vibrating in her soul
Always knowing the rhythm and moving to it
In a slow dance of her memories.
Alone in her sense of time, the solitude calms,
Feeling the earth beneath her feet, soft air on her face
And the wind calling gently her name
The moon reflects the glow of a thousand years
And time spans the twinkling of a second.
For primitive beings eons ago, stood here too,
Engrossed with the same thoughts and dreams
And wondering as we all do, of the enigma
Of time and space and the significance of life.
But in solitude the ancient questions are clarified.
We are one with the earth and the tides of the moon
We feel and hear the sound of life itself
The pounding and crashing of time forevermore
Rumbling in the depths of this earth that we share
And then we know that we are not alone.
